Smyrna police are investigating the suspicious death of a local man who had been missing for several weeks before his body was found and are asking for the public’s help in piecing together his final days.
Melvin Moss, of the 2500 block of Gordon Circle, was reported missing on Jan. 7 and found dead some 500 feet from his home on Feb. 21. Police believe the area where Moss was found, a wooded area between Village Parkway and Pasadena Boulevard, is not the original crime scene.
Smyrna police are looking for anyone who may have any information on Moss’ whereabouts between the time he disappeared and the time he was found dead. Additionally, police want to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity between Village Parkway and Pasadena Boulevard between the time Moss disappeared and the time when his body was found.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Smyrna Police Department at 770-434- 6666 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577- 8477. Any tips to Crime Stoppers Atlanta can be anonymous and there are rewards up to $2,000.
